Smarter Balanced

Oregon is a member of the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium.  Smarter Balanced is a state-led consortium awarded funding from the U.S. Department of Education in 2010 to develop a next-generation assessment system aligned to the Common Core State Standards by the 2014-15 school year.  Oregon’s Higher Education lead for the consortium is Karen Marrongelle, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Standards and Collaborations in the Oregon University System.
